COVID-19 swept across the Nation in 2020 and statewide stay at home orders in California caused the World of Outlaws to avoid the West Coast for the first time since their inception some 42 years ago.

The Outlaws returned to CA in a limited fashion in 2021, running the Gold Cup at Chico and the Tom Tarlton Classic at Hanford.
